Our New House
Almost every Sunday, after church, we take a drive across town to see the progress on our new house. We can't wait to move in October and have the benefit of lower mortgage payments. The area in Mountain's Edge community is really nice and family oriented and there is a nice park for Zoey to play at only minutes away. There are also several elementary schools in the area that I am hoping to get hired at come graduation time. Also, just an interesting fact, we will be zoned to attend church in the building as I grew up in; The Desert View ward church building.
Here is our street. They are just finishing our row of houses.
This one is ours. We are so lucky to have help making this move across town; we could never have done this alone. This will be our home for years to come.
Here is the inside. The wood stacked up in the center of the room is our walls. The front of the house faces west and there is a tiny reading room downstairs that will get the beautiful western sunlight. The backyard and downstairs windows face east and will catch the morning sun.
This will eventually become our kitchen. I like how they put a window in the north wall to bring in extra light. That was my biggest complaint about the last house, was that it was always so dark. I miss the sunlight that I was used to growing up in my childhood home.
Here are the stairs leading to the second floor. Unfortunatly, we dont have another loft area for Zoey to play, but I am glad because her newest trick is climbing the railing and looking over the side with a 20 foot drop down to hard tile. Talk about a Mother's nightmare. This home will be much safer.
This is the view out of our bedroom balcony. We are out on Rainbow, past Blue Diamond, the furthest reaches of town in that direction and have a veiw of the desert and railroad tracks. For now, we have been told, there are no plans for building, which means no visual obstructions or breach of privacy, for at least ten years. Nice.

This is Zoey's bedroom. The baby's room is just next door with a bathroom in between. I wanted to give the western sunlight to my children. It is the best and most precious gift I can imagine. I want to hang little crystal gems in front of the windows to catch the light and make rainbows dance on the walls just like my mother's chandilier did when I was a little girl.
Here I am sitting in the proposed baby's bedroom thinking about my hopes and dreams and of our future in the making.The Neighborhood
In our neighborhood, there is a set of houses that all live on streets with names straight out of The Lord of The Rings, Rivendale, such as Baggins Street and Lothlorian Avenue. Awesome.
Zoey slept the entire car trip. Here she is With her head proped up on her purple slipper and the window shades. I am so creative when it comes to convenience.
We were driving around the back streets when we found this crazy house. We can't decide if it is like some millionares fun house or just a home of some crazies. They even have thier own gate code system. Freaky.
